Emma Stone
Emily Jean Stone, also called Emma was
born in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 6, 1988. She was the daughter of Krista
Jean Stone (nee Yeager), who is a housewife, and Jeffrey Charles Stone (CEO of
a firm that contracts and was its founder and chief executive officer). She has
Swedish as well as British Isles heritage. Stone started acting in the ages of
a child, as a part of the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where she
made her stage debut in an adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in
the Willows". Through her teens, she performed in numerous other
productions until she decided to make acting her profession. The official story
is that she created an PowerPoint presentation, which was backed by Madonna's
"Hollywood" and also titled "Project Hollywood", in an
effort to convince her parents to allow her to drop out of school and relocate
to Los Angeles. The mother and daughter made the pitch and made the move to LA.
Her education was done at home, and she was able to spend her time performing
auditions. She made her TV debut in 2004, when she was given the role as Laurie
Partridge on the VH1 talent/reality program In Search of the Partridge Family.
It was followed by a number of smaller TV roles in the years that followed.
After a string of successes in the role, her appearance as Olive in Easy A
(2010) was her movie debut. Attended Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix,
Arizona. While she is a redhead, the hair color that is natural to her is
blonde. Judd Apatow was the one who suggested that she change her hair's color
to match Superbad (2007). The film was so well received that she decided to
keep her hair. She convinced her parents to allow her to move to Hollywood at
the age of 15 by presenting an PowerPoint presentation that was appropriately
titled Project Hollywood. She began acting when she was 11 years old and was a
part of Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre. Here she appeared on 16 stages as well
as performed in the comedy improv troupe of the theatre. Caylee Cowan was also
a part of the Valley Youth Theatre.
