Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born 26 August 2002, is a popular American singer and rapper. The single he released in 2019 "Ransom", was his first major hit. It reached the top spot at 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The mixtape he released as his debut We Love You Tecca (2019) was the first to include the single. It peaked at #4 on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also contained the singles "Love Me" and "Did It Again". The debut album of his studio, Virgo World (2020) was released at #10 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping songs "Dolly" as well as "When You Down". The second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" and others. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born the 26th of August, 2002, in the Queens area in New York City to Jamaican immigrants. Sharpe was born in Queens in Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe eventually moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Sharpe was a kid with ambitions to become an athlete in basketball, but he switched his focus to music when he was 12. Sharpe attended Lawrence High School. When Tecca was just nine years old, he responded to his interest in music by rapping with his friends using his Xbox. The two would sometimes berate each other. One of the tracks was uploaded to SoundCloud several years ago, however it was later removed. He initially had no plans to pursue a musical career however, he had a dream of becoming an NBA superstar. He started to consider music more seriously when the time he stopped playing basketball when he was in middle school. The first track that gained some popularity, "Tectri", was composed in collaboration with his friend, Lil Gummybear, and came out in early 2017. The other tracks he has released include "Callin" as well as "Tectri". A year later his career was beginning to gain momentum with his hit single "Ransom" The track was released on Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd, 2019. The track peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has received more than 990 million plays on Spotify and over 300 million views on YouTube.
