Alison Doody
Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish actress and model. She made her debut in a feature film by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to portray the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Doovan portrayed Charlotte on Taffin in 1988. Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody began her modeling career after her being approached by an aspiring photographer. She has since developed into commercial modeling. Doody tried to stay clear of the glamour of nude roles which was a principle she applied in her acting. She accepted a small role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that she was noticed by the casting director. Doody was named as one of the 12 most promising new Actors of 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was just turning age 18 at the time she was cast in the character as a Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying starring Mickey Rourke also had a part for Doody as IRA Siobhan. Doody played Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 TV version of The Secret Garden. She was Lilias. She was Sapsorrow in the episode of Jim Henson's fantasy series The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took possibly her most famous role to date as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist the Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. The film also starred Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors who have portrayed James Bond. Doody played co-starring in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British mini-series Selling Hitler, which was inspired by the publication fraud named the Hitler Diaries. The actress later relocated to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she was later chosen to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his agent and girlfriend. Doody, who had been away from acting for almost 10 years, came back in 2003 to play a small part on her role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her as a character at an award ceremony. in 2004, Doody appeared in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version of King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody appeared as a character in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), which was a pamphlet that described the Holocaust. Doody filming a character in Danny Dyer's 2010 film The Rapture. Doody was later a guest on RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of the classic horror film The Asphyx but the project ended up being cancelled. Pam Jefferson, the character that she played in the comedy series E4's Beaver Falls during its first season that ran for two years. She also appeared on the show in 2014 as We Still Kill the Old Way. In November 2018 she was awarded the Almeria award for best film as well as a star on Almeria's Walk of Fame.
